Marissa L.

Marissa started coming to Horsepower when she was in high school.  She had never ridden a horse before and we were not sure what to expect.  She has now ridden 5 horses in her time at Horsepower and she has learned so much about not just riding horses but caring for the horses.  She bonded with the horses from the beginning and looks forward to each session. We have seen her grow in her ability to listen and follow instructions.  She has learned how to be sensitive to each horse’s personality.  She has learned to be patient and wait for her turn in the arena.  Her confidence has grown so much and she takes a lot of pride in learning new skills.  Although she struggles with anxiety, she is calm when she rides her horse.  She talks to her horse, praises her horse and encourages her horse.  The horse is her friend.  We cannot thank Horsepower enough for this amazing program and all the benefits it has provided for Marissa.
